Spontaneity and organic connection to breath, song, sound and rhythm are the key factors which thread through this wonderful and ever expanding group of singers.
The Singing River Raise the Roof joined choirs from throughout London singing down the River Thames on a forty foot barge in celebration of the re-opening of The Royal Festival Hall under the directorship of Orlando Gough. On arriving at the Festival Hall Raise the Roof joined in a mass singing of celebration and welcome through music specially composed by Orlando and also in the magnificent Georgian traditional song Aslanuri Mralvalzhamier.
St Augustine’s Church, One Tree Hill, SE2 This beautiful Grade 2 listed church, which has an ongoing Living Heritage renovation appeal, has hosted the annual summer concert of The Raise The Roof Choir which is recorded live.
