A smaller group of experienced a capella singers, focussed on further voice devlopment, closer harmonies, complex repertoire and performance.
Meeting time and place Alternate Saturdays during term time (September to July) at Normanton Street Methodist Church, Forest Hill.
Enrolment criteria Commitment expected to attend regularly and to take part in performances, occasionally abroad. Maximum number: 20 (currently full) When numbers fall below 20, the musical director and committee will advertise within the Raise the Roof Singers and Choir for new members, targeting specific voice parts, e.g. alto, bass, etc. Interested people will be invited to a 'taster' session with Trade Winds. The MD will listen to the new voices singing along with other choir members in small groups (no individual auditions) and will seek the blend of sound that the choir requires at that time. Final decision to invite new members to join Trade Winds rests with the MD.
Administration Self-managing with organising committee overseeing administration, membership, finance, performance schedule, future planning and MD appointment.
Performances Regular concerts throughout the year with other choirs and overseas choral events. Some ticket sales or retiring collection; percentage of proceeds to charity.
